If you prefer more active holidays, you'll be glad to know that Anglesey is an ideal place for water sports: from scuba diving to surfing, from canoeing to windsurfing. It's also perfect for golfers, cyclists and walkers, because of its many golf clubs, the multitude of cycle routes, circular walks and trails that allow sport-loving people to easily explore the island's towns, coast and countryside.

Even discovering Anglesey by bicycle is becoming ever more popular. Bicycles can be hired locally and leisure centres offer free parking, changing rooms and showers. You can even opt to go horse riding or trekking.

Amongst the most important historic findings are the Edward I medieval castle, the only working windmill remaining in Wales and the mansion of the Marquees of Anglesey that overlooks the Menai Strait, a narrow stretch of shallow tidal water about 14 miles long which separates the island of Anglesey from the mainland of Wales.
