Instructions and Suggestions

1.What is a PodCard?
PodCards are audio postcards that you can download to your iPod, your mp3 player or to your computer. You can also burn the files to CD to use in class, at home, in the car - wherever you want. They contain information about a particular town or city from different countries around the world or biographies of famous people, inventions, films or events that make these places famous.

2. Where are these files on the site?
Go to the Country Index page. Here you will see the flags of different English speaking countries.

Click on a flag and it will open the page where you will find postcards from different places in that country. The postcard tells you the town or city, the type of listening, the level and the length of the file.

3. How do I use the materials?
First open the worksheet. There are always two activities. Read Activity 1 before you listen. Now listen to the audio file and complete the exercise. Next read Activity 2 and listen again to complete the exercise. When you have finished you can then read the transcript to check your answers.
