The Wiggles are an Australian band, and there are four members, Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Sam. They are extremely successful children's entertainers, combining bright colours, music and dancing. Children all over the world are crazy about The Wiggles and if you watch one of their shows you will understand why! There are also four special characters in the shows: Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword, the friendly pirate. All of these characters join in with the singing and dancing too.
Anthony, Murray and Greg started the group in 1991 and very soon after that Jeff joined to play the keyboards. In 2006, Sam Moran replaced Greg Page for health reasons.
Each Wiggle has a particular role, or has a funny characteristic. Murray Cook, the red Wiggle, was born in Cowra in 1960 and plays the guitar. He lives in Sydney with his wife and two children, a son and a daughter. Jeff Fatt, the purple one, was born in 1953 in Casino, New South Wales, and he is always falling asleep. Anthony Field was born in 1963 in Sydney and he plays a wide variety of instruments including the guitar and the drums. He wears the blue shirt and is always eating. The last Wiggle is Sam. He was born in Sidney in 1978 and his first appearance for The Wiggles was in 1998, as host of "The Dorothy the Dinosaur Show". After Greg's retirement, he became the yellow Wiggle and his peculiarity is losing things.
The Wiggles have made numerous videos and songs, live shows, TV series, a movie, and have even developed Wiggles areas in amusement parks. Their triumph is celebrated everywhere, winning awards and performing sold out shows all around the world.
